The Doyle and Debbie Show: Where country music takes the stage

Published: Nov 4, 2009

In a hilariously musical performance that keeps audiences in stitches from laughter, The Doyle and Debbie Show merges country music and theater for all to enjoy.

You don’t have to love country music to appreciate the humor of The Doyle and Debbie Show. Bruce Arnston and Jenny Littleton take the stage as an overly stereotypical iconic country music duo. In the show, the actors wield the vocals of vintage country stars and acting that rivals that of Broadway veterans. Visitors can expect a hilarious script and equally hilarious original songs sung by the duo.

The atmosphere is quaint, with the show taking place inside Station Inn, one of the city’s mainstays in live bluegrass music.

In this irreverent tribute to the Music City, you can expect to hear paradoxical songs such as, “Stock Car Love”, “Fat Women in Trailers” and “Whine Whine Twang Twang.” Make sure to bring tissues because you’ll inevitably laugh till you cry when you hear some of the lyrics.

The show has developed a loyal following among Nashvillians who return multiple nights to enjoy the musical satire. The show is so well-liked, a second Doyle and Debbie Show is in Austin, Texas, offering off-color humor in the city’s Long Center.

To take the experience home with you, the show’s gift shop sells a CD of the songs you heard and tapped your toes to during the show. The CD is sold in addition to other souvenirs to document your Doyle and Debbie experience.
