Pie in the Sky Pizza

Big cities such as Chicago and New York are known for signature touches on pizzas. Now, Nashville has earned a spot in the pizza-making business.

Pie in the Sky Pizza is a locally-owned restaurant that features tasty ingredients, fresh sauce and friendly staff. 

Owners Kelly and Caroline Black always dreamed of bringing memorable pizzas to Nashville in an upscale setting that appeals to families, couples and kids of all ages. After months of perfecting their handmade sauce, slow-proofed dough and finding delectable, aged cheeses, the Blacks opened their first restaurant on Valentine’s Day in 2001 in Cool Springs and was later voted by some as the best local pizza in town. The business soon expanded, with locations in Lenox Village and Vandy/Midtown.

The restaurants are slightly more upscale than national chain pizza restaurants, but still a comfortable atmosphere. There’s seating for 100-200 and a patio seating area for when the weather is nice. High-definition televisions line the walls showing sportscasts and a full bar serving martinis, beers and other alcoholic beverages. 

If you’re really hungry, begin with a starter of calamari, garlic bread with cheese or spinach artichoke dip. 

Diners are encouraged to be bold and create their own pizzas using traditional toppings or gourmet pizza fixings such as Tiger shrimp, chopped artichoke hearts and aged parmesan reggiano. 

Not in the mood for pizza? The menu offers an impressive list of pasta dishes, warm hoagies served with chips and calzones to which you can add your favorite pizza toppings.

Pizza can be sold by the slice or whole pizzas are served in small, medium and large. The entrees range in price from $6.99-$23.99 depending on your options.

Pie in the Sky Pizza is open 11 a.m.-10 p.m. Sunday and Monday; 11 a.m.-2 a.m. Tuesday- Saturday.
