WatermarkWatermark, an upscale restaurant located in Nashville’s thriving Gulch area, offers Nashville’s dining connoisseurs high-impact flavors in an elegant atmosphere. Executive chef Sean Norton cooks up a regularly changing menu that highlights each season with the flavors signature to that time of year. Dishes such as fried green tomatoes with charred corn, sweet potato ravioli with ham hock pot liquor are a few examples of the ever-changing menu. But there are some favorites that remain the same, offering returning guests comfort. The appetizers offered on the menu reveal a confident mix of flavors to bringing a surprising burst of flavor with each bite. Those dining in can choose from the low country oyster stew served with roasted leeks, bacon and sherry to stone ground grit soufflé served with local goat cheese, bacon butter sauce and shiitakes. The entrees featured at Watermark offer the same bold flavors paired with world influences. The wood-grilled block island swordfish features red pepper relish, sage and lemon confit. Chef Norton serves up the roasted grouper with foraged mushrooms, roasted beets and aged balsamic vinegar. The green apple hash, confit and juniper complement the roasted duck breast entrée. If you plan to partake in the total Watermark experience you will have to save room for dessert. There’s the pumpkin bread pudding served with pumpkin seed ice cream, salted caramel pot de crème with chocolate peanut bark and peanut butter ice cream truffle. The restaurant even puts a spin on the classic American dessert, s’mores, served with Jack Daniels marshmallows, soufflé, graham streusel and bitter chocolate ganache. The wine list at the restaurant features more than 300 selections from a wide range of countries, regions and prices. Reservations can be made on the restaurant’s website.
