TazzaIt’s rare when you find an affordable yet elegant meal in the downtown area of a city. But then there’s Tazza Italian Restaurant, an eatery that defies the norm by offering hearty helpings within a budget. The restaurant is located on the busy thoroughfare of Church Street. Inside, the warm, welcoming atmosphere resembles a quaint restaurant in Italy. The closely-placed rectangle tables create a comforting dining experience. The daily fare is made from scratch offering a burst of fresh taste with each bite. The menu offers a host of delectable dishes that will keep you returning every time you visit downtown Nashville. The restaurant offers tasty appetizers that ready your palate for the dishes to come. You can play it safe with the Tazza Spinach and Artichoke Dip for $6.99 or the Mozzaluna Cheese Sticks for $5.99, plump, imported cheesy sticks served with fresh marinara sauce. But then there’s the more daring choices such as the crunchy stuffed olives for $4.99 that features black olive halves stuffed with garlic Parmesan cheese in a crispy foccacia bread sprinkled with bright bits of red and green peppers. Or you could try the Lobster Bite Basket for $8.49. The tasty dish features lightly-breaded lobster fried golden brown and served with steak fries. The restaurant serves traditional Italian entrees such as well-known pasta dishes in addition to American favorites such as burgers. But again, Tazza offers fare that tantalizes the taste buds in the only way Tazza can. The Cajun Peanut Chicken Sandwich offers a chicken breast marinated in Cajun peanut sauce with lettuce and tomato on French bread for $7.49. The di Florencia Caver from Italy’s Tuscany region comes with a flavorful stuffing of spinach, onions, red peppers, roasted garlic, toasted pine nuts blended with cream cheese and blue cheese and wrapped inside a moist chicken breast for $9.49.
