An iconic tradition, teatime and Britain usually go hand in hand. The tradition of sipping the warm beverage portrays an air of formality and regality. In Chattanooga, the authentic British tearoom and shop was established in 1997 and brings timeless traditions of England to Chattanooga. The atmosphere, menu and staff reflect true British customs.
The English Rose is located in the foyer of the original Grand Hotel. Built in the 1890s, the hotel accommodated passengers using the newly opened railroads to the south, with the Chattanooga Choo-Choo station located right across from the English Rose.
The menu offers just enough formality and sophistication to make this an unforgettable experience. Afternoon tea features a pot of tea and six assorted finger sandwiches, a plain or raisin scone served with Devon cream, strawberry jam and lemon curd and an assortment of English biscuits.
