DaVinci's Gourmet Pizza: cozy atmosphere, fresh bites

Jun 22, 2010

DaVinci's serves up gourmet pies one block from West End on Hayes Street. This spot has character; housed in a building from the 1920s, DaVinci's has a charm and warmth that newer buildings often lack. Inside the restaurant there's a room to the left and a room to the right. The murals in the room to the right are a sight for sore eyes, and the fireplace in the room on the left is cute and cozy.

The pizzas are no secret to Nashville residents. DaVinci's has claimed "Best Pizza" from The Nashville Scene for nine years. This is a popular spot for friends to meet for lunch, sit on the patio and sip on some tasty sangria.

You'll see the regular pizzas on the menu at DaVinci's like Hawaiian (with pineapple, cheese and Canadian bacon) and Leonardo's Combo (with pepperoni, ground beef, Italian sausage, onions, black olives, green peppers and mushrooms). You'll also see some DaVinci originals like the Southwestern (with salsa, onions, green peppers, cheddar cheese, cilantro and chicken, beef or black beans), the Potato (with rosemary potatoes, bacon, onions, Parmesan and cheddar) and the Shrimp and Scallops (with shrimp, scallops, mushrooms, parsley, onions and provolone cheese). If you're feeling really adventurous, go for the Oyster Rockefeller pie, topped with spinach, onions, mushrooms, smoked oysters and Parmesan.

Vegetarians have plenty of pies to choose from here, including the Vegetable Pie, the Milano, the Cheese Cheese, the Greek and the Mona Lisa. Order a vegetarian lasagna or a meat lasagna for a perfectly baked Italian treat.

Salads and dessert complete the simple yet delectable menu at DaVinci's. A shared spumoni or an Italian sorbet can add some sweetness to your meal and leave you satisfied and full.

Check out the special events happening at DaVinci's -- from discounted sangria Wednesdays to great deals on micro-brews, there's plenty of fun to be had on weekends and weekdays alike.

HelloMetro Tip: If you love DaVinci's delicious pizza creations, ask about their "Gourmet on the Go," where customers can buy their favorite pizzas to take home and bake in the comfort of their own kitchens (and schedules!).
