Tin Angel: an American bistro on West End Avenue
Published: Apr 8, 2009
An upscale restaurant with reasonable prices and an intimate setting, the Tin Angel opened its doors to the Nashville community in 1993.
Centrally located on West End Avenue just a few miles from downtown, Tin Angel Restaurant prides itself on being a neighborhood restaurant with an ever-evolving menu of American fare.
Tin Angel makes seasonal updates to each of its menus so that it can serve the freshest foods year around.
The lunch menu consists of several salad entrees, including the $13.75 Med Salad (grilled shrimp, green beans, fennel, chickpeas, roasted red bell peppers, red onions, orzo, feta cheese, toasted pumpkin seeds and more with mixed greens and sun-dried tomato dressing.)
If garden greens aren’t your thing, there are a variety of other entrée options, including seafood, pasta, chicken and burgers.
The cozy setting and relaxed atmosphere make dinner at the Tin Angel an intimate affair. A round, free-standing fireplace welcomes guests in to the dining room. The exposed brick walls and old flooring have been restored in the historic building.
You might want to begin your meal with one of the many appetizer options, such as the Three Mushroom and Brie Bruchetta (shiitake, portobello and shimeji) for $7. Appealing entrées might include a maritime dish or a classic like the $25 South Manhattan Strip Steak (topped with butter and fried onions and served with creamed spinach and potatoes.)
The menu also includes several gourmet chicken entrees as well as pasta and pork dishes.
A full service-bar lines one wall of the dining room. In addition to beer and other spirits, the Tin Angel has an extensive wine list, updated regularly with the newest and best selections from around the world. Not sure what you want? The wait staff is trained to help guests select the best flavor to pair with their dinner selection.
Sunday brunch is from 11a.m.-3 p.m. and includes breakfast classics as well as some regular lunch menu items.
