Sheryl Spencer is a Nashville, TN native whose unique artistic abilities became apparent before she was able to write her own name. She soon became a top art student with a special interest in cartoon pop art, contributing cartoons locally and winning art contests/awards during her private school years. By the age of 16, she won a scholarship to Tennessee's Governor School of the Visual Arts.
After graduating from Belmont University with a double-BA in Studio Art and Education, Sheryl continued sharing her creative talents as a licensed art teacher in Metro Nashville Public Schools and currently teaches art within a private school setting, while still managing to fulfill her artistic ambitions in her spare time. Sheryl has shown and sold her artwork throughout Nashville, including her alma maters, Watkins Film School, Vanderbilt University Club, Epiphany, TPAC, and the Country Music Hall of Fame. She has also contributed art to such publications as La Crucero and The Nashville Banner, and has been a featured artist in Nashville’s Gibson Guitar Town Project and Canada’s Art for Life auctions. She is also a regular fixture of Nashville's growing art scene and often volunteers her time within various local galleries and artist groups.
Along with her fine artwork, Sheryl also works as a caricature artist at various Nashville private parties and events, her past jobs having taken her to such popular events as Fan Fair, the Southern Women’s Show, Zootopia, plus the annual Tomato Festival and Turnip Green Festival.
