Artist Bio
I took these shots from the audience at the Led Zeppelin concert at Birmingham, Alabama's civic auditorium on May 18, 1977. It was the tour during which Robert Plant's son died in England so it may have been the last appearance on this American "Zoso" tour.
It was a time before cameras were not allowed in concert venues and before fire marshalls dictated how close you could get to the stage!
I have many more exposures that I have recently begun selling as reprints from the original negatives. Some are color. Others are black and white. Some of them do very well as large as 16 x 20. They are all copyrighted, of course.
I was using some good telephoto lenses and was able to get pretty close to the stage so there are quite a few close shots of Plant and Page individually and together as well as Jones and Bonham. There is one of all four sitting toward the front of the stage performing "Stairway to Heaven" that's pretty awesome, I think.
If you are reading this and are interested in seeing all the prints you can email me and I will snail mail you a contact sheet. If you select an exposure you'd like I will have it professionally printed and ship it to you. The print would be on high quality photographic paper and ready for framing.
