Bellevue Middle School Reviews

I love bellevue middle school... It's has the most wonderful teachers.. and, you can do anything u want here!..

My son started 5th at BMS this year in the pre-IB class track. We've been pleased with the instruction so far and he LOVES school so much more this year; says he's actually SAD when it's the weekend! We haven't found homework to be heavy, ~1 hr or less a night. No bully problems experienced. Band teacher's great and typing class is challenging. I feel like the teachers/admin CARE about the students. I haven't seen much call for parent involvemt. Complaints: VERY LITTLE PE (it's an 'elective' that he'll take for a semester); it's used to be a HS, so it's got a great theatre, but is letting the tennis courts and baseball fields fall to ruin and not be used for students as they could be; our school system is stuck in post-WWII mode with language instruction -- I'd like to see Indian or Mandarin taught instead of French.

This is a great school and i'm happy to go here!!!!!!!!! The teachers are great!! So is the principal!!

I am a student who attends Bellevue Middle School in the 8th grade. I would not recommend this school to anyone who would like to be succesful in life. I have attended this school for one year and they teach very little. The teachers do the very minimum to reach state requirements and they will pass even the laziest students. I would not recommend this school for any parents who want their kids to have a safe and secure learning environment and a good basis in high school.

We have two children in the International Bachelorette Program at BMS. They are thriving in their educational experience. The school not only challenges them academically, but surrounds them a social environment that is helping to promote strong citizenship. We are pleased with their peers and with the parent envolvement at the school. We are convinced that we are getting the quality education in a public school that would come with a large price tag at a private school. The community feel at this location is unique. The quality of the administration shows on a daily basis. Words do not do this school justice!

As an early childhood professional, I am always involved in the education that my neice and nephew are receiving. The IB program at Bellevue Middle School is supurb. For the second year, I have seen my neice blossom through the opportunities extended her at this school. I set my expectations high, and BMS continues to exceed them.

I pulled my daughter out because they could not meet her gifted needs and now I home school her. Nashville public schools compared to other schools outside of the state are VERY far behind (at least a year). I felt BMS was doing her (and frankly all of our children) an injustice. Just check out where Nashville ranks, even compared to Chicago. We are down low on the totem poll.

I am an 8th grader at this school and i am greatly honored to be at this school. The teachers are great. There are advanced classes for all students, inclueding spainish 1-a( 1st year0 and spanish 1-b (2nd year), pre-algebra, algebra, geometry, advanced history and language, computer classes for every student, video making class, and the honor band. there is something for everyone at this school and a great principal to keep everythings in shape. for people new to the area like me i suggest you enroll your child in this school.

I sent my son to live with his father because of the quality of schools (public and magnet) that the Bellevue area has to offer. We have both been extremely satisfied. Mr. Waters goes out of his way to encourage our son to expand his musical abilities with positive reinforecement and high expectations. Our sons entire six grade team (Ms. Irwin, Ms. Catignani, and Ms. Dullaney) were supportive and held high expectations as well. Bellevue is a great place for a child to grow!

I am an upcoming eight grader at this school, and I for one think that it is amazing. The acedemics are amazing. They allow you to take high school credit courses in your 3rd year. And the music programs are awesome. This really is a great school.

I am new to this community. I have a 5th and 6th grader. They have adapted well. The school overall is a good one. The principle seems to care about the students and their progress. I would reccommend this school to parents looking to move to the Bellevue area.

I am sick of people talking about my school I am a student there ,and I really like it. Also if you have aproblem with the school you can send your kid to a different school. This is my fourth year there and I have enjoyed just about every thing that has happened ,and I'm in the normal classes not the advanced ones.

This school is terrible! The principle has some of the most outragous rules i've ever seen. Last year he wouldnt let student stand up at a basketball game to cheer. The lunch line in disgusting. When i ate lunch with my child there were raoches crawling on the walls. I looked at the health score and it said 94. It rediculous. Just friday there was a horrible food fight. Their only solution was to have some perosn from the staff come and yell senclessly at the students. The teachers do not know how to interact with the students at all, they dont know how to listen, and the principle is even worse. There are fights and misbehavior all the time. The only good teachers at this school are mrs. lavvorn, mrs. irwin, and ms. hickman. If you care about your child dont go here.

This year at Bellevue Middle has been disappointing and frustrating. We are utterly dissatisfied with our child's teacher and the administration seems unable or unwilling to move our child to a better environment. Based on our experience this year I would not recommend Bellevue Middle to any parents who care about their child's educational development.

We love BMS! The principal is fantastic. He's turned this school around in the three years our daughter has been there. Advanced students are placed in separate classes from the general school population and fifth graders are now completely segregated from the older kids. Parental involvement is high and there are many opportunities for students to get involved in sports, theater, and leadership activities. The building needs work- It was built in the seventies and has almost no windows. But the teachers are wonderful.

I am pleased to send my child to Bellevue Middle school. The teachers really care about the students and encourage students to do their best. The building is well maintained and attractive. Extracurricular activities are numerous and well handled!

We are very pleased with school and staff. Principals Duckworth and Jones provide a safe and nurturing environment. Staff is well qualified and caring.
